Membership Dues & Membership Cards

The membership year at the club begins October 1st, every year.  Dues renewal notices for the following year will go out to every member at the end of June. This gives you 3 months to renew your membership. There will only be ONE RENEWAL NOTICE so act on it promptly to avoid having your access card shut off or incurring additional fees. If your dues are not received by October 1st, your card will be inactivated. If dues are not received by October 31st, you will need to reapply with dues and an initiation fee. If you have not received a renewal notice by July 15, please contact 724-935-9884 or email at nssa@zoominternet.net

Membership dues for 2009 are $70.00 for Regular and Associate Members.  Junior Members dues are $10.00. (click here for the application)

The access system has been operational for a couple of years and already we are having as many as 1800 card swipes per month and the vast majority of members already have an access card and are enjoying its use. It provides some peace of mind by knowing that you no longer have to wonder and worry about confronting the person shooting next to you to determine if they are members, if they weren’t a member, the gate would have never opened for them in the first place. This system has enhanced our security and the tracking capabilities around our facility.

The Access Card continues to become more and more important and the paper membership card will not longer be produced or distributed. The Access Card with the appropriate sticker attached is now the only membership card for NSSA.  All new members currently pay the deposit on the access cards with their membership applications, and current members who do not have an access card must now acquire one as has been mandated by the Board of Directors.

Note: Junior members will also have access cards assigned to them as well. These cards will open the clubhouse to allow access to the restrooms and possibly other areas. They will not open the gate. Junior members who would like the ability to use the aforementioned facilities can purchase their card now. Junior members who would prefer to wait until they become Regular members (age 18) may also do so; NSSA will hold their cards until then.

When the club has received your dues payment, a colored sticker will be provided for you to stick on the face of your access card. The face of the card is the side with ‘ASP’ embossed. This sticker is the visual indicator that you are a member in good standing for the upcoming year.  Junior, Associate, and Special memberships do not come with voting privileges. Only Regular, Military, and Life members may vote on club issues.

Members should send their dues by mail and will receive a sticker via mail as we process your renewal. If you fail to submit your renewal prior to October 1st the access card will not work after September 30th and during the period of time that we are processing the dues.  Dues mailed late in the renewal period will be processed in the order of receipt.  We will be working, with volunteer help, as quickly as possible to minimize the inconvenience to late renewers.

Access Cards should be worn on the outside of your clothing in plain view at all times while on club property. Remember to bring the Access Card with you when you attend meetings at the club. You will be asked to produce your card on meeting nights when a vote is being taken on club issues. Members who cannot produce an access card with a current sticker will not be eligible to vote, even if we know who you are. In the future, your access card may be scanned when you come to a meeting night to determine your voting status before the meeting begins so arrive early on meeting nights.

NSSA Military Memberships

American Soldiers are on the front lines this very minute defending every one of your freedoms. Remember them before you retire to bed this evening; you’ll sleep in peace tonight while they remain ever vigilant. They are sacrificing in ways you’ve never thought about, paying your price for freedom.

NSSA is very fortunate to have a special group of members know as Military Members. This elite unit of personnel represented by all branches of our Armed Forces have been welcomed into our club by a Board of Directors decision many years ago which provides memberships free of charge for every soldier on active duty. This small token of our appreciation for their service to our country continues to this very day.

Current members may qualify as a Military Member by providing a Xerox copy of any military orders indicating your Active Duty Status and include them with your dues renewal notice when you mail it back to the club. BLACK OUT any sensitive information as necessary or required. No dues money is required.

Families of soldiers who are members of NSSA and are currently deployed can provide Xerox copies of their Military Dependant ID cards with a phone number so the membership committee can contact you. If you don’t have a Military Dependant ID and you have a family member who is deployed, check your Family Care Plan that should have been supplied by the Armed Forces and then get an Military Dependant ID card. You may contact Paul Szoszorek by email szo986@zoominternet.net at your convenience and something will be worked out; guaranteed.

Access cards for Military Memberships will be held indefinitely at the club while we wait to welcome these soldiers home. Families of soldiers can obtain the access cards while their loved ones are away. Contact Paul Szoszorek as indicated above.
